Screener for Rock Salt sifting and scalping
The Gentle Roll can screen a wide variety of products and is successful in a wide variety of applications. One application that it does very well at is screening and scalping salt. This machine pictured is a Double Drum 4 Screen Gentle Roll designed to screen and scalp rock salt. It is constructed of stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The Gentle Roll has been used in many salt applications from screening and sifting salt to scalping and sizing. Some salt products currently being run through a Gentle Roll include rock salt, salt pellets and granular salt. Some users have requested mild steel units for salt as well. The Gentle Roll does an effective job of screening with reliable operation and quality craftsmanship to ensure the user a quality screener with long life.

This Unit will effectively remove fines and overs from corn or most any grain at 3000 BPH. Grain is not the limitation of this machine though. This particular model has been used for edible beans, pellets, salt, and many others. It just depends on what the application is. This model uses 2 screen sections to femove the fines and 2 screen sections to scalp the good product.

Custom Pellet Screener for sacking system
Sometimes there is not a standard Gentle Roll model that will work for a customer. When that happens, we can customize the Gentle Roll to accomodate this problem. In this case, Farmers & Ranchers Coop in Ainsworth, NE had some space issues. The unit pictured, now installed above their new sacking system, is fed from a hopper bottom bin. Then pellets or range cubes are screened in the Gentle Roll. Then the screener discharges the pellets or range cubes from the "overs hopper" into a hopper above the sacker, while the fines are discharged through the hopper under the screeners main screen section. We designed a long feeder inlet to convey the material as well as meter it to the screener so they maximize screening and sacking efficiency. The sideframes were extended to mount on top of the hopper and the motor and drive were mounted on the inlet end of the machine for easy access. Customizations like this are what make the Gentle Roll the most versitile screener available.

Benefits and flexibility of the Valve Assembly and Sidewinder with the Gentle Roll
The Valve assembly and Sidewinder Conveyor that can be used in conjunction with the Gentle Roll Cleaner/Sifter brings a flexibility that is unmatched by any other screener in the industry. With a 2 way valve under each screening section, the operator can choose which discharge to send each separation. Primarily this has been used in the feed industry when running pellets, crumbles, and cubes. This gives the operator the ease of switching all gates to one side to remove fines from cubes, and to direct the fines from pellets and crumbles to one discharge and the good product to the other. A by-pass can be added as an option to all screen sections or just one, to allow product to by-pass the conveyor altogether. The gates can be powered manually, air actuated or electric actuated. There are far too many options to list as we can accomodate almost anyones specific needs. The Valve Assembly is also used by many customers without the Sidewinder Conveyor. Any two conveyors can be mounted under the Valve Assembly to handle the product. This video shows the end view (overs gate) and how the conveyor is moving in both directions.
Cleaning Grain before Steam Flaking
Steam Flaking corn or milo has proved to be the superior means of production for cattle feed. Cleaning grain prior to the steam flaking process is one of the most improtant steps to ensuring you are getting the most out of your investment. By removing the foreign material like fines, dirt, rocks, cobs, and stalks, production efficiency is increased and the quality of the finished product is improved, thus boosting conversion rates and feed efficiency. Foreign material can cause energy waste in the cooking process as well as cause the rolls to gum with fines or roll damage from rocks thus comprimising the integrity of the flakes and ultimately reduce feed conversion and feed efficiency. Ever Mix Soybeans with Corn?
Accidents happen, but with the Gentle Roll you can solve this problem with ease. The Gentle Roll Does a great job of separating soybeans from corn and this model pictured, 24-4-HBC, is a unit that does exactly that. The mix enters in the inlet and flows through the drum. In each screen section, the soybeans are removed and the corn continues on and discharges out of the overs hopper. This machine has a special discharge under all four sections so the customer could mount a screw conveyor to reclaim all the soybeans. The customer has mounted this machine on a trailer for mobility and shares it with multiple locations.

Pellet Screener for Feed Mill in Georgia
This Model 24-2-HB Gentle Roll was built for a customer in Georgia for screening feed pellets at 20 TPH. The gentle rollover action of the Gentle Roll creates the ideal conditions to screen pellets. Not only does the rollover action screen excellent, but it conditions the pellets by buffing the ends of the pellets. By removing the flashings on the ends of the pellets, fines that would be created after the screener are significantly reduced. Some say that this is creating fines, however this is not the case, this action only removes more fines before they are created in further handling.
